Winter weather has arrived, the birds are hungry, and it’s time for our Feathered Friends Photo Contest.

Enter your favorite pictures of birds visiting your feeders -- or birds in your backyard, or any birds you photographed in the wild. Readers at SouthCoastToday.com will choose their favorite pictures, and a panel of judges will select two other winners. Here's what you could win:

First prize (most online votes)

There are a few simple rules:

You can enter up to three photos in the contest, but there will be only one winner allowed per household.

Photos can be taken from any season of the year, and even previous years. But all photos must be outdoor birds – not caged pets.

Deadline for submitting photos is noon on Jan. 28, with voting from Jan. 28 to noon on Feb. 10. Winners will be announced Feb. 12, and winning photos will be published in the Sunday Standard-Times on Feb. 15.
